From strawberry patch to “winter equestrian capital of the world”, Wellington is home to the marvelous residences, world-class sports and superior amenities of the famed Palm Beach Polo and Country Club.

Equestrians perhaps already know that the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center(PBIEC) also resides here, surrounded by 8000 acres of beautiful private horse farms. From January to April the PBIEC hosts the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival, the “largest and longest running equestrian competition” in the world. With so much to offer the equine population, this South Florida hotspot, is quickly becoming a year-round, international equestrian community.

If you’re not part of the horse set, there are still plenty of reasons to call Wellington home.

Wellington boasts top-rated schools, parks and recreation centers. Its citizens are active in their community and passionate about where they live, continually sponsoring a rich variety of community events and volunteer initiatives. This city even host its own online broadcast called, “Wellington’s In The Know,” which reports on upcoming events and happenings in the area.

Fifty-seven miles of trails allow for hiking, biking or running, as well as horseback riding. Take a dip in the lazy river ride at Calypso Bay Waterpark or visit the 900 animals at Lion Country Safari, Florida's only drive-through safari.

Wellington also borders The Loxahatchee Everglades, so hop an airboat and learn about the conservation of some of the most rare and endangered species in the U.S., including the docile West Indian manatee and the pre-historic American crocodile. The Everglades “is one of the most significant corridors and stopovers for migrating species. And it is home to the largest mangrove ecosystem in the Western hemisphere.”
