It was love at first sight! Clay has had a “thing” for Florida since he came down on Spring Break 1976. After graduating from the University of Connecticut in 1980 and working in the banking and financial industries, holding such titles as Manager of Compliance, Manager of Corporate Custody and Securities Lending, Manager of Investment Accounting and Bond and Money Market Operations, Senior Trust Conversion Coordinator and Manager of Institutional Custody and Alliance Partnerships, Clay decided to make a break for it. He moved to South Florida in 1999 and obtained his real estate broker’s license. In 2000, Clay began work for Diane Turton Realtors. True to form, he quickly proved his business savvy, gaining Turton’s repect and earning the title of Business Manager for the firm. He grew the South Florida businesswoman’s real estate enterprise from $20 million in sales to over $106 million in just 4 years. By 2010, Clay Haviland had achieved enough success to buy out Diane Turton Realtors’ Florida Division and now under its new name, Signature Properties of the Palm Beaches, Clay is focused on serving his clients and making the company, once again, the area’s premier, go-to real estate brokerage.
